Covington
Competition

A competition to create a new "Gateway" for the city of Covington Kentucky, on the Ohio River opposite Cincinnatti Ohio. The two cities are linked by a bridge that was designed by George Washington Roebling (of Brooklyn Bridge fame) just prior to his design of the more famous span. It was desired that the competition entries respond to the historic and cultural importance of the bridge.
